Design Should Be Beautiful & Useful

I believe that design should be used to improve the functionality of an object as well the aesthetics. As a graphic designer with a focus in web and app design, I see the importance for the functionality and aesthetics to work together to best serve the intended purpose of the design.

I have heard for awhile, people saying that they couldn't get Starbucks coffee before they came to class because the line up was too long. I thought that it would be great if there was a way to pre-order drinks instead of having to wait when you arrive at Starbucks.
