From the time she was really young, she has always been fascinated in the design of things whether it be for practical or aesthetic purposes. Harold from Harold and the Purple Crayon has been one of her biggest inspirations when it comes to design. Like Harold, designers and program managers also help to shape the environment around them. The lesson that she learned from Harold was that we are only limited by our own imagination.
Lisa Vanderschuit is a Senior Engineering Program Manager at Shopify in the Office of the CTO. Over her eight years at Shopify, Lisa has led more than 30 key initiatives, including some of the largest replatforming initiatives for the company's engineering organization. The Office of the CTO at Shopify leverages engineering program managers to ensure engineering's impact is greater than the sum of its parts. They do this by delivering initiatives that cut across many engineering groups which enable our product teams to build the best features for merchants. Her passion for building communities has led to her co-founding the Asians Employee Resource Group and engineering program management craft at Shopify.
